When Disaster Strikes, Will You Sink or Swim?

If you were fortunate enough that your Houston business escaped undamaged by Tropical Storm Allison, you probably know some that were. (In fact, if you know JRVsystems, you know at least one that was; this newsletter is late as a result!)

You carry insurance against losses from flood, fire, theft, lightning, hurricanes, tornados, and other threats. But as important as recouping expenses is, it won’t help you recoup operations.

Where would you relocate while your office space is unusable? Have you made arrangements with the third parties on whom you will depend? Do you have spare parts for critical servers, or spare PCs you could use as servers? Off-site backups? How would you get your network running? Restore Internet access?

These are just a few of the questions a Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) must answer. DRPs save valuable time getting your business operational, allowing you to maintain service to your customers to keep them from finding other vendors.

JRVsystems can assist you in planning the IT component of your DRP. Please call us if we can help you keep your head above water.
